Latex is a living material—natural, responsive, and demanding. With the right care, your investment can last a decade or more. Neglect it, and it will punish you with discoloration, tears, or that dreaded sticky breakdown.
Read this guide once, and you’ll be equipped to keep every piece looking glossier, lasting longer, and feeling better than the day it arrived.
Washing Your Latex: The Golden Rules
The Right Way (Hand Wash Only)
- Fill a basin or bathtub with lukewarm water (never hot).
- Use a specialized latex cleaner (like Viviclean) or a mild, non-perfumed dish soap. No household cleaners, bleach, chlorine, or citrus-based detergents.
- Turn your garment inside out and gently swish it through the water. No scrubbing, twisting, or wringing—just a soft massage.
- Rinse thoroughly in clean lukewarm water until all soap residue is gone.
Drying Protocol
- Hang the garment inside out on a plastic hanger (wood and metal will stain or stretch) until the inside is dry.
- Turn it right-side out and hang again until fully dry.
- Pro tip: You can also gently pat dry with a soft towel—never rub.
The Shower Rinse Myth
Rinsing your catsuit off under the shower after a session is a great first step, but it is not a wash. Always follow up with a proper hand wash in the basin to remove body oils, sweat, and silicone residue.
Machine Washing & Tumble Drying
We do not recommend it. While technically possible on a delicate cycle, the agitation, heat, and spinning stress the seams and can cause micro-tears. Air dry only.
Chlorinated Latex Care
Chlorinated pieces are easier to handle—they don’t stick to themselves and go on smoother. Wash them exactly the same way as untreated latex. The only difference? You can skip the powder or lube for dressing (more on that below).
